Lead Student Finance Services That Support Student Success
We are seeking an experienced and student-focused Student Finance Manager to lead our Student Finance team and oversee the delivery of efficient, compliant, and high-quality financial support services.
Working closely with colleagues across Student Services, you will ensure students receive clear guidance on tuition fees, funding, and payment options while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and institutional policies.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of Student Finance Advisors, providing coaching, support, and performance management.
Oversee student finance operations, including tuition fee management and funding processes.
Ensure compliance with government funding regulations, student loan requirements, GDPR, and institutional policies.
Provide expert guidance on Student Finance England (SFE) and resolve complex student finance queries.
Produce reporting and insights on student finance activity and performance.
Identify financial risks and implement controls to safeguard institutional finances.
Drive service improvements, system enhancements, and digital solutions to improve efficiency and the student experience.
Work collaboratively with Student Hub and wider teams to deliver seamless student support.
About You
You are an organised and proactive leader with experience in finance, compliance, governance, or student services within the education or public sector.
Essential
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
Proven experience in compliance, finance, governance, or student services.
Experience managing and developing teams.
Strong understanding of UK regulatory frameworks, including Safeguarding, Prevent, and GDPR.
Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage projects, analyse data, and work across multiple stakeholders.
Strong IT skills, including experience with student management systems and Canvas.
Desirable
Experience within higher education or student services.
Familiarity with financial systems and reporting tools.
Knowledge of Office for Students (OfS) requirements.
