Admissions Interview Manager

Role Summary
To lead and manage the Admissions Interview team, driving a high-quality, consistent, and student-centric interview process that directly supports LCCA’s recruitment and admissions objectives. This role is accountable for overseeing interview operations, enforcing standards and compliance, developing and performance-managing staff, and continuously enhancing the applicant experience to ensure excellence, fairness, and alignment with institutional priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
Lead, supervise, and performance-manage the Admissions Interview team, ensuring all interviews are conducted professionally, consistently, and in full alignment with college standards and expectations.
Strategically allocate interview schedules and actively manage team workloads, optimising resource utilisation to consistently meet admissions targets and critical deadlines.
Drive staff development through structured training, coaching, and regular performance evaluations, fostering a high-performing, accountable, and motivated interview team.
Play an active role in recruitment and onboarding of interview staff, ensuring the selection of high-calibre candidates who align with institutional values and quality standards.
Maintain rigorous quality control by enforcing consistency, fairness, and objectivity in interview assessments, ensuring robust and defensible admissions decisions.
Interview Oversight & Quality Assurance
Monitor the quality and accuracy of interview documentation and applicant evaluations.
Review and approve interview outcomes, ensuring alignment with admissions criteria and institutional values.
Develop and maintain interview guidelines, templates, and best practices.
Handle escalated or complex applicant cases and make final recommendations where necessary by liaising with the Director of Admissions.
Compliance & Policy Adherence
Ensure all interview activities comply with college policies, including Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, and Data Protection.
Promote inclusive practices to avoid any discriminatory behaviour or bias in the admissions interview process.
Maintain accurate records and reporting for audit and compliance purposes.
Ensure and maintain integrity and confidentiality of data and associated data protection requirements in line with statutory and institutional requirements
Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with academic teams to ensure alignment between admissions decisions and course requirements.
Represent the Admissions interview team in meetings, working groups, and external events if required.
Work closely with the student recruitment team to advise on issues relating to the admission interview processes
Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding interview-related matters.
Student Experience & Engagement
Support initiatives to enhance the applicant journey from interview to enrolment.
Collaborate with the Admissions Operations team to ensure a seamless transition from the interview stage to the onboarding of new students.
Contribute to events such as Open Days, Inductions, and Graduations.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Analyse interview data and trends to inform strategic planning and improve processes.
Provide regular reports on interview outcomes, conversion rates, and team performance.
Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and applicant satisfaction.
About You
Essential Qualifications & Skills
An Undergraduate Degree
Proven management experience in admissions for minimum 3 years in a Higher Education environment
Proven credible experience in training and developing staff members in admissions processes.
Competence in Microsoft packages including Outlook and admissions databases.
Experience in interviewing or applicant assessment.
Desirable
Experience of working within the UK HE guidelines
